The following Political Candidates Policy was approved by the Greater Rochester Rotary Board at the February 2006 Board Meeting:
The Rotary Club of Greater Rochester will respond through the Program Committee to requests of political candidates by choosing a date that fits our schedule and then giving a candidate an opportunity to have lunch, make a five (5) minute presentation and mingle with the membership if they desire. The Rotary Club of Greater Rochester will have only one (1) candidate per meeting and that candidate may hand out political brochures.
Incumbent candidates could give a regular program (20-30 minutes) at a club meeting that covers pre-approved topics by the Program Committee, and that allows a 90 day window before filing for re-election. All requests must be submitted to the Program Committee.
